Aya Iwata is a Japanese silver smith working with the technique of cloisonne and glass casting.

She was born in Tokyo to parents who were artists and educators, and was exposed to diverse materials for artistic creation from a young age.

Her pieces are characterrized by a sophisticated combination of materials; fine silver,enamel and glass.

She has finely honed her technique throughout the years and has offered her abundant knowledge teaching her skills in the field of metal craft.

Her works are truly rich in poetry, and 

often evoke a feeling of pleasure in their artistic sensibility.
